Richfield, WI - Josh Bilicki took to the high banks of Michigan International Speedway on June 16th for his first time on a two-mile NASCAR circuit. Bilicki wasted no time getting familiar with the team, MBM Motorsports, and the track. Starting the race 33rd, Bilicki quickly moved inside of the top thirty in the opening laps. He worked his way to 23rd position near the end of the first segment, but an issue during a pit-stop moved him back to 30th. Bilicki narrowly avoided a wreck during the opening part of segment two. After battling with the number 78 BJ McLeod Racing Chevrolet, Bilicki ended segment two in 29th position. After starting segment three in 31st position, Josh quickly worked his way up to 25th position. After a late race caution, Bilicki fell back a few positions in the pits and ended the race in 27th.
"I think it was definitely a successful weekend," says Josh. "It was my first time working with the guys at MBM Motorsports and also my first time on a two-mile oval. I've raced Spec Miata here (Michigan International Speedway) but that was on the infield road course circuit, so this is a completely new experience. We showed we could be competitive and if it weren't for the pit-stop issues, I believe a 21st or 22nd place finish was within reach. A special thank you to CNC Swiss Inc for coming onboard this weekend as a primary sponsor and also to Sons of Speed and Main Street Real Estate Group for coming on as associate sponsors."
