Mooresville, NC (April 29th, 2021) – Josh Bilicki and Rick Ware Racing announced today that RBR Aviation will serve as the primary sponsor on Bilicki’s #52 Ford Mustang at this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway.
RBR Aviation provides aircraft maintenance, inspections, and repairs at their two locations in Dallas, TX. For over 25 years RBR Aviation has grown its list of available services with the goal of providing customers with a “One Stop Shop” maintenance solution. RBR Aviation joined Josh as a primary sponsor at Kansas Speedway in July of 2020, where the team brought home a top-25 finish. “With NASCAR’s crazy 36 race schedule, we rely heavily on aviation to get us from point A to point B, whether it’s the drivers, the race team, team sponsors, or NASCAR executives and employees,” says Bilicki. “Many people within the industry fly privately, so we are really hoping to use this partnership to promote RBR Aviation and open new doors and leads to anyone involved in NASCAR who needs aircraft maintenance performed.” Junction Fuels, Insurance King, Dollar Loan Center, and My Place Hotels will serve as associate partners on Bilicki's car this weekend. The NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway will take place on Sunday, May 2nd at 3:00PM ET time and will be televised live on FS1. Mooresville, NC (4/14/21) - Josh Bilicki and Rick Ware Racing are set to honor the late Lennie Pond at the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series Throwback Race at Darlington Raceway on Sunday, May 9th. Bilicki’s #52 Ford Mustang, which has primary sponsorship from Insurance King, will carry Lennie Pond’s famous yellow Burger King “best darn burgers” paint scheme. Insurance King, a long time partner of Bilicki’s, offers low-cost and SR-22 auto insurance.
“It’s an honor to have the opportunity to honor the late Lennie Pond this year at Darlington,” says Bilicki. “My friends at Insurance King are always very creative with their paint schemes, so when they came to me with this idea, I was all for it. Like myself, Lennie Pond worked very hard to get to the NASCAR Cup Series and turn his passion into a career. NASCAR was built around blue-collar workers like Lennie, so naturally, I felt that this was a great tribute.” Lennie Pond was born in Ettrick, Virginia on August 11th, 1940, just thirty miles away from Richmond Raceway. He grew up racing around his parent’s farm and eventually began racing on dirt tracks in the mid 1950s. After quickly moving through the ranks, Pond made his NASCAR Cup Series debut in 1973. His career totals include 234 career starts, one win, 39 top fives, 88 top tens, five poles, and a best championship finish of 5th in 1976. He beat out Darrell Waltrip for rookie of the year honors in 1973. Five years later, Pond won his first career race at Talladega Superspeedway. Before retiring, Pond raced his last race on September 10, 1989 at Richmond International Raceway in the Miller High Life 400 where he finished in 11th place. Pond got to run all three track configurations at Richmond - dirt, asphalt and the current layout. Pond died on February 10th, 2016 from complications of cancer. The NASCAR Cup Series Throwback Race at Darlington Raceway will take place on Sunday, May 9th and will be televised live on FS1 at 2:30PM ET.
